  7. Highlighting Otis Spann's name on the cover of this disk is a little unfair to the other participants contributing to this wonderful set of Chicago blues. For rather than being a solo show case for Spann's extraordinary piano work, this disk is in fact a fine ensemble recording made by the mid 60's incarnation of Muddy Waters band/5(14).
  8. The Penguin Guide to the Blues does not rate this album at all citing sound issues, performance levels, especially by Spann. OK - Muddy Waters does not really contribute but I loved this album when I first bought it on vinyl in the s and I love it still having just bought this CD version. Also features good performances by James Cotton.4/5(15).
